Welcome to the RPM Seven Day Soundtrack, week ending Friday 28th March 2025. It's the heading into spring edition...over to...
"Hi Everyone. Here are three tracks that have caught my ears this week..."
As I Roved Out by The Woods Band - "The Woods Band was an Irish folk-rock band formed in 1970 by husband and wife team Gay & Terry Woods shortly after their departure from Steeleye Span. This is from their eponymous debut LP from 1971. Terry Woods was also a member of The Pogues and Sweeney's Men. Gay Woods formed a band called Auto De Fe in the eighties and in 1994 she was asked to rejoin Steeleye Span. The 1996 album, Time features her and Maddy Prior on vocals. Maddy left the band after this album and Gay was the main vocalist for the next few years on albums including Horstow Grange and Bedlam until Maddy rejoined in 2002."

Urge For Going by Claire Hamill - "Apparently, there are 135 known recordings of this Joni Mitchell classic and up until last week I was only only familiar with two of them. Then I heard this amazing version by Claire Hamill from her debut LP One House Left Standing. It takes a while to find it's groove but when it nears the one-minute mark you know you're onto a winner. Only another 132 versions to find!"
Corduroy Couch by Brown Horse - "I've heard a couple of tracks from the new album by Brown Horse and they are excellent. The LP All The Right Weaknesses is out next week; an essential purchase."
