Then they interview the commander. We get to hear the 'official' statement about the enhanced platoon, and it's role in the military. The reporter asks about what's next. How many more will be transformed. The commander dodges. They ask if one day there might be a program for civilian transformation. She dodges. They ask about the rumor that the president wants to transform public service workers, such as police and firemen. She dodges.
(maybe they touch on the delicate issue of transformed obeying normals?) They ask why she is transformed. She explains that a limited number of officers were selected to maintain authority over the transformed platoons. They ask if there is a reason normals can't have command authority over the transformed. They are still investigating the effects of transformation on authority and the chain of command. They ask if she has trouble taking orders from the president. Absolutely not, he is my command and chief. They point out that in a room, her presence has to command natural authority. Has she been in meetings with the president? Yes. How has the rest of the room reacted. They still know who their president is.

Back out in the field, he hands a mit to Arnold, and asks him if he has a favorite game. Of course he does, and he explains which one. The ball player picks up the story, and recounts his version of it, glorifying it a little.
The baseball player degenerates to curiosity about Kim, his gaze periodically looking over at her. (do you think there will be others like her?) There already are. (I mean other civilians. Do you think they'll let other civilian women become like her?) Honestly, I don't know. Even so, that would be a long way off. My understanding is that the serum is hard to make and in short supply. We should probably talk about something else, the program is highly classified. (Ohh, of course. What is it like, being with her? She's gorgeous, i'll grant you that, but how do you get over the feeling she could tear you in two?) This time Arnold looks over at Kim with a snicker. Get over it? That's what makes things exciting.
