Amanda Rogers in Love - outline

    • Questions and ideas...

      • Q are generally arrogant, super intelligent, and nearly omniponent (but not completely), and not omniscient.

      • they don't "know everything" at once, but they can focus their attention where they want to discover and observe things

      • they can't really "manipulate time", but they can make it seem like they can

        • they can remake matter at some scale and precision. however, they can't remake concious memory, so conscious observers will remember the changes.

        • they can

      • they can't read "conscious intent or memory", but they can read 'habits' and 'reflexes' stored in a brain (which is physical), including some likes, dislikes, etc.

      • how does Amanda learn about Leo's amazon fetish?

        • she could use time travel to observe the entirety of his life. she doesn't know his thoughts, but she knows every single action, including his private indulgances in holo sim. (which are not logged, but that doesn't stop her)

      • Maybe we should intro Leo's fetish in a flashback to a holo indulgance which is unsatisfying because it's not sentient (it's somewhere between a scripted play, and doing exactly what he wants)

      • "amazon game"?

        • maybe she makes herself huge and sets up a game with him

      • NWO - change the whole world

        • Maybe he's amazed and floored when she figures out his fetish and teases him ('would you like that? if I was xyz..."). when she does it, he expounds how amazing it is, commenting about how the holodeck never feels real. after having some fun, she sarcastically scolds him, for thinking an omnipotent being would want to be reduced to merely creating a better version of a cheap holodeck thrill.

        • then she blinks him into his old life, where his coworkers are amazons and his job is changed.. the more the story unfolds, the more freaked out he is. finally she 'picks him up from work', makes smalltalk with the office staff, and casually asks 'how was your day honey?'

          • he freaks out, telling her she can't just change everything like that. she's arrogant ('of course i can silly. i just did. but you're being rude, answer my question, how was your day?')

  • Concept

      • Amanda Rogers (who is secretly a Q living among humans), finally meets a human man (Leo / Leonard) she's intrigued by, who is not intimidated by her confidence and intelligence. She reveals her secret to him, and while she agrees never to use it on him, she uses it to satisfy some of his desires. Along the way, she finds out he's attracted not only to her mental superiority, but to the fantasy of physical superiority. She indulges him by making herself into his fantasy amazon ideal.

    • The more he likes it, the most dominant she becomes, until she's imprisoning him like a pet because she knows it's actually what he desires most.

    • Then she realizes if all women are changed, men won't be as intimidated by her, so she somewhat selfishly changes the entirety of human society.

    • Leo protests the changes, as he doesn't 'like' men being on the bottom in work and culture, but she sets up a devious compromise, where she lets him decide what she looks like, but it'll affect all women. While getting physical, she teases him, his attraction takes over, and he ends up making even bigger changes than she had. (which she eventually cuts off before they get even more unreasonable)

    • The ramifications of the change cause problems..

      • This creates conflict and problems in society she didn't anticipate, including men becoming victims and aggressively violent (because their temperament hasn't changed).... she tries to fix these problems by going deeper in, making men more submissive and women more nurturing.

      • This creates an entire subculture of women who breastfeed their subservient men.. and where a single woman will keep multiple men, more like a bunch of pets. As Amanda exposes him to these changes in society, he's both revolted and strangely attracted to the situations, and she uses her power in secondary ways to coax him (by changing women to casually wear unreasonably sexy clothing, and notice and respond to his attention to their breasts as if it represented the simple matter of him being hungry... )

      • after being overwhelmed, he tries to privately appeal to her to 'change it back', which starts a morale dialog she finds fascinating, where he tries to justify that what she's doing is wrong, and she explains that the formation of gender in a society is arbitrary -- what makes any choice different than any other choice? The more she treats it like a game, the more frustrated she becomes, and she decides to 'give him some time to think about it', in the care of a young female paid "man watcher"... who she instructs to copulate him at least three times a day, even if he resists, to avoid him missing her too much and getting defiant.

      • At first he tries to resist, or even explain the situation, but she isn't 'falling for it', and she forces him to arousal and copulation. Interactions take a look at the awkwardness of women paid as 'man sitters', her authority despite relative youth, and his fortitude to resist wearing down. They have some candid conversations, and he confesses he actually really likes being in her care... at which point she says some things that incrementally 'leak' that she's actually Amanda in a disguised form. He feels a little deceived, but as his affection for both Amanda and the caretaker merge, he gives in.

      • Then, just as things seem to be settling down, someone from the Q Continuum appears to question the nature of what she's doing falling in love with a human man. They don't have any problem with her changing the entirety of the human race, almost for amusement, but they don't like that she cares for this particular human. They demand she come back to the Contiuum. She tries to refuse, but they threaten to make Leo cease to exist, and she relents.

      • This leaves Leo in the care of a human who actually isn't Amanda, which is less affectionate and flirty, but just as impossible for him to resist. He cries, lamenting Amanda's absense, until he's finally plucked into the Contiuum and her 'trial' of sorts.

      • They challenge him to corroborate the facts as they see them from their perspective... that Amanda was smitten by him, and that she remoldeled the entire human race around his personal sexual desires.... which is basically what she did. "proving that she has prioritized a human above her own interests" a capital offense among the Q Continuum.

      • He tries to defend her, and while they shut him down at first, someone eventually lest him speak. He gives a touching monologue of both emotion and logic, to make the case that while the changes originated in his fantasy, he asked her to stop repeatedly and she continued, suggesting she was doing everything for her own personal amusement. He 'turns on her', and asks her what was so amusing about it, and suggesting that changes that have altered an entire civilization, to her were merely entertainment. She tries to deny it, but he wields evidence to convince the Continuum that he's right. They rule that she will not be eliminated, but have a final question for him, wondering why he still seems to care for her. He gives a monologue that flatters them -- she is absolutely Q, and that he loves her for it, asking if there is something against their 'rules' about others being in love with the power and allure of the Q and what they can do? To which they all laugh and don't bat an eye, blinking Amanda and Leo back to their home on Earth but "back to normal".

      • Then they have an intimate moment, where Amanda explains how grateful she is, and how sorry she is for becoming so selfish... as she admits that his accusations of her behavior were perfectly correct. She confesses that having the power to change anything 'distorts choices', making the difficult seem trivial and the unreasonable seem desirable. She suggests it might be better if he had never met her, and offers to remove any knowledge of this from him, if he'll let her break her vow not to change him. He refuses. He professes how much he still cares for her, and how he'd take being by her side over a 'normal' existence, no matter what kind of selfish mischef she decides to explore.

    • The whole time this is going on, she's getting a kick out of it and teasing him with his internal conflict. (look at the bright side, if we break up, the world is filled with women you'll be more attracted to)

    • partner dynamics

      • "omg amanda how are you able to ...."

        • ... "this is no more difficult for me than breathing is for you"

      • she wants to know his secret desires. he's evasive, so she starts to use time-travel to observe his life, bringing up silly secrets as she observes them.... until she finds him accessing holosim, and eventually uncovers his fetish.

        • he feels a little violated, and urges her to stop, which she agrees to do if he'll just tell her (which he can't)

    • "Amanda Rogers in love" -

      • Amanda's backstory... Amanda was born to two Q parents masquarading as humans, who were 'eliminated' by the Q Continuum. She grew to age 23, with only minimal knowledge of some 'mysterious' things happening to her, including having weird mystical puppies that follow her. but she attributed the powers to the puppies, not herself. She learns about her powers aboard the enterprise (S6, True Q), and leaves to join the Q Continuum. "two days" after leaving (in human time, though an eternity for her)), Amanda returns to Earth to live among humans, dismayed about the lack of meaning in the Q Continuum. She makes some subtle manipulations to make people forget that she is Q. Then she sets out to work on some of the most difficult human problems. When she is unexpectedly approached romantically by a man, she tries, but even as she hides her Q powers, he's intimidated by her confidence, and they way she seems to be able to get implausible things to happen.

      • Leo (Leonard's) backstory... a spiritually minded physicist, in his early 40s. divorced, but no kids.

      • A year later, she's one of the world's most renowned scientists, but she lives an extremely modest life. As part of her frugality (hitching rides, sleeping on couches), she meets an unusual man, who fascinates her in the same way Picard fascinates Q... challenging that notion the 'advancements' she's making have any net value. (that technology is a circular treadmill, and that deep philosophical questions are much more interesting)... she becomes enamored, and as she understands some of his deep questions, she tries to explain them in human language, and even though she struggles, he's very much smitten by her. he's attracted to her achievements (instead of afraid, like most men) An attraction she finds genuine and interesting. They share a kiss, but she stops him.

      • She professes how enamored she is, but there is something about her he needs to know.... confessing she's Q and what that means, by way of a parlor trick. He's surprised and retreats a bit, and she immediately fears she's made a mistake. He asks why she's telling him this, and she explains her history.. (tried to deny her Q gifts but she couldn't resist them, then tried to live with the continuum, now is living among humans using her gifts for good) She explains that she lives a simple life because when she has strong desires, her Q nature just makes them happen. That's why she stopped the kiss. If she goes any further, she'll manifest her desire and she won't be able to hide her Q nature from him anyhow.

      • He briefly explores the question of whether he has a choice at all. Of course he does. She once made a man love her, but it was empty, hollow, unsatisfying. She can manifest anything she desires, but real deep love and connection between sentient beings is beyond even her powers to manifest. (connect with her earlier wisdom about universe) After a pause, she says something complimentary about how he made her think, and how why she's attracted to him. She asks if there's a chance he still feels for her, even knowing what she is.

      • He's tepid at first, asking questions.. (why do you live a simple life, hitching rides and crashing on couches, if you can have anything). She answers with socratic questions, "it seems to her that wealth, and big houses, and private drivers breed isolation. why would she want that?" he has to admit while that's all true, he still covets a more comfortable lifestyle. still, her perspective impresses him, "amazed that such a young and beautiful woman can be so accomplished and wise. he can't even concieve of what it's like to be what she is."

      • "If you give me another kiss, you can start to find out." They share a nice kiss, and when he opens his eyes, he's outside, somewhere unfamiliar, looking at the most remarkable, yet obviously alien night sky, with a visually distinct galaxy showing in the sky. He's startled, asking where they are, and she explains the planet has no human name. She calls it 'luxana'. He takes in the view, remarking how 'astounding' it is, as she pulls him in for a romantic embrace, flirting that she's glad he likes it, and that she's interested in astounding him in a more intimate manner. she teases him, asking him to think about his 'ideal mate', at first teasing and chastising him for moving too fast by thinking about how her humility and accomplishments is exactly what he's looking for in a wife.

      • She asks him to think of this more like a first date with a grandiose twist. I know men are very visual, so I want you to think of the most sexually arousing woman you can imagine. (he pictures a pretty girl with a slightly more sexy figure) Hmm. Interesting... but you're still thinking very small. Maybe we should play a game. We each take a turn making a piece of an astounding fantasy, literally anything we can dream of. I've taken the first step, creating this planet, 405 light years from earth. It's your turn, and I'm asking you what you want me to look like.

      • "You what?!? You created this? How is that possible? When?" He turns, looking around at the scenery in amazement. Then he rambles about how hard it is to even understand what is happening, including joking worry if the date doesn't go well and she doesn't take him home.

      • She teases that being omnipotent doesn't make her beyond morality. That's why she left the Q continuum to live on earth, and help people. But he's getting distracted. She blinks and creates an outdoor day bed, and she's lying seductively in lace lingerie, looking more like his previously 'ideal woman'. This, this is trivial. And if this is really what you want, it can be my turn, but I think you can do better. What do you really want me to be? Yes! She gets a big shit eating grin on her face. "ohh darling, now you're understanding." she teases him a bit more verbally, before blinking into his fantasy, a giant 8' tall over sexualized woman. (pic pic pic pic) The bed and scene adjusting to fit.

    • ...

  • Alternate Q brainstorm

    • "Q for a day" - Q appears to an ensign on the USS enterprise, commiserating about his confusion with Picard denying his help.... The conversation results in Q asking "if you could be one of us, a Q, you'd want it, wouldn't you? hell yes!"... after some silly intro, and him using the powers for stupidly small things.. like materializing coffee, and making himself a captain, Q starts nudging him to think bigger. his 'academy crush' suddenly appears there from many light years away, completely confused and a little freaked out, he tries to explain.... Q taunts that this is why the human race is hopeless. he offers the cosmos, and he he wants a girl, and an unremarkably average girl at that. Then he starts to taunt the girl, "he can give you anything you know. wouldn't you like to be remarkable?"

      • ...?? where does this go ??
