The commander meets with the doctors, reviewing the situation. The Internet is aflame with video footage from TJ's address to the tent city. The time she has to prove this program is worth it is narrowing, "please tell me you have good news". / Sarah and Chad both start talking at once, and Sarah differs to Chad. He explains that with Sarah's insights, they've increased serum yield a thousand fold. / The commander asks if this means she can have her 200 soldiers by the end of the month. / Sarah chimes in, 'commander, we can now produce enough serum to perform two thousand transformations each week.' / "how many people know about this? how many people understand this technology?" / (just chad, sarah, and a couple labtechs on my staff) / I'll need the names of those staff members. For the safety of our nation, and your own protection, none of you can leave the base until further notice. Will that be a problem? / Chad: No, not at all. We're all aware of the importance of what we're doing. The labtechs are Pete xxx and Arnold yyy.
At 23:30, Pete hears a knock on the door, it's a transformed soldier he recognizes (how?). She introduces herself as 'private chambers'. 'Sir, can you verify that you're in possession of your personal cellphone?' / "Yes, yes of course?" He pauses, before pushing the door open and stepping back to make room for her to enter. She ducks under the door-frame. Inside, the 8'5" ceilings are barely tall enough for her. It only takes him a moment for him to grab his cellphone from the bedroom. "Here it is." / "Excellent. I've been assigned to your guard detail, I'll be staying here tonight. I'm also instructed to confiscate your phone, and let you know that you're confined to the base until further notice. ." She held out her hand. / "What? What is this all about?" He asked in surprise, as she took the phone from his hand. / "That's all the information I have, sir. you'll need to address any questions to your superior." / "Alright, well it's late, so that can wait until morning. I'm just headed to bed, so... goodnight, private xyz." She nodded as he retreated back to the bedroom, suspicious of the way she seemed to be following him. As he started to close the door, she held her hand out to stop it. "I'm sorry sir, but my orders are to keep you in direct sight at all times." / As he sits on the bed, she ducks through the bedroom door. He feels awkward about the intrusion into his personal space. "Well, this is invasive. So you're going to watch me all night?" / "Yes sir, those are my orders." She surveys the room, finding an appropriate place to stand, against the wall beside the bed, with a good view of the entry and exit points. / She's just a few feet from him now, looming over him. "Could I at least get you a chair to sit on?" / "No thank you, sir. I'll be just fine standing. I'm permitted to turn my back if you need a few moments of privacy." / Pete pulled the covers back, and crawled into bed, conscious of the huge looming figure next to him. He turned his back to her, trying to ignore her presence as he fitfully fell asleep.
Meanwhile, in Arnold's quarters, the same scene had played out, leaving a private looming over him in bed. However, Arnold found it impossible to ignore the giant soldier standing over him. Some dim light from the window fell across her chest, highlighting her curves, and making his mind wander. In the twilight before sleep, he imagined her looking down at him, noticing his loneliness, and crawling onto the bed. He chastised himself for the thought. He was engaged to be married!
As Kim gets ready for bed (dresses in her pajamas with no modesty for her assistant), she "girlfriend" chats with her assistant about her insecurity over Arnold not answering her text messages. She wonders if her proposal was too much, and he's having second thoughts. Her assistant gives her platitudes, "i'm sure there is an explanation" and "you two seem really good together". The more Kim pushes, the more the assistant's secret crush invades her comments, "this concern is just silly.. you're smart, you're beyond gorgeous, and you're career is exploding. if he won't marry you, he's stupid." The girls both giggle. Kim returns to pouting (then why isn't he texting me good night, he texts me every night). The assistant comforts her, sits close, brushing fingers through her hair "Kim, you're the world's only civilian transmorph. You have no idea how alluring you are, not just to Arnold, but to everyone. Sometimes when you sweep him off his feet and hug him..." / the assistant stops short, embarrassed to finish her thought. Kim's interest is thoroughly piqued. "What?" Her assistant holds silent as Kim sits up, looking radiant. "XYZ, you're so sweet. I want to hear what you were going to say." The assistant is still silent, shaking her head.
Kim felt much better listening to XYZ complement her than worry about Arnold. She wanted more. "You know, I can tickle it out of you." She started by just gently poking her side. Her assistant didn't respond, so she tried again, dancing fingers up the side of her torso. The way XYZ jerked her body away said she found the right spot. "Come on, tell me." Kim tickled her again, at the same time grabbing her opposite hip to block her escape. / In a moment, she had XYZ laughing and protesting, "No, please, Kim." As she giggled, she fruitlessly assaulted Kim's grip, trying to get free. However, the more she squirmed, the more fun it was for Kim to show how effortlessly she could restrain her. She cinched XYZ closer, tickling up under her arms. "Stop. Stop." Even though XYZ was protesting, her words were hollow. It was obvious both of them were having fun with their little struggle. Kim, because it took her mind of Arnold, and XYZ because this was the most intimate contact with Kim she'd ever had.
The longer XYZ refused to confess her thought, the more intent Kim became on coaxing it out of her. Moments later, Kim was touching and tickling her bare tummy where her shirt had ridden up. XYZ however, was experiencing something completely different. The proximity of Kim's body, scantily clad in her two piece pajamas, was setting aflame the feelings she had for Kim, and making her think maybe Kim had them too. If there was any time to tell her, the time was now. She tried to restrain her laughing, "fine. fine. I'll tell you. Stop. I'll tell you." Kim subsided her tickling, but still held XYZ firmly. To XYZ, the moment seemed so right, it had to be. She shared her complete thought, "sometimes when you sweep him off his feet and hug him, I wish it was me."
Kim was completely stunned. That was not at all what she was expecting. In an instant, she saw her relationship with XYZ differently. Sure, she was her assistant, but she was also the one Kim spent almost every waking moment with. The one she shared almost everything with. The one who made things happen for her. She was indispensable, and she was beautiful. Kim didn't feel the same way about her that she did about Arnold, but did she have feelings for her? She wasn't sure. She didn't know what it felt like to have feelings for a woman. Then came the next surprise of the night. XYZ leaned in, and a moment later they were kissing.
For XYZ it was the culmination of her hopes, her feelings, her crush. She leaned in and made their lips connect. When Kim didn't resist, she offered her tongue. When Kim reciprocated, she reached out, pulling them together.
At first Kim didn't even think, she just fell into a kiss that felt so incredibly right. When XYZ pulled her into an embrace, she felt confused. This wasn't fair to Arnold, or was it? She'd gone out on a limb and proposed, and he didn't even have the decency to check in to say good night. She wondered if he deserved this, to be taught a lesson, and that was all it took to give in to XYZ's passion. She returned the embrace, pulling XYZ up onto her body as they kissed.
