Ra - life, "creation" (materialize things out of thin air), strength, flight, but only in daylight sun, after which his powers fade over ~10 minutes

Ideas
? change the story around to be more about a domestic relationship between a man and his wife as she turns into a living Egyptian goddess
she tries to tell her husband something is happening to her, but he is too busy with career to listen
she uses her growing powers frivolously, cleaning her house, upscaling her wardrobe
she reveals it to her male archaeologist coworker, who is amazed and curious, asking all kinds of questions.
he wants to tell people, and she gets stern and uses her powerful goddess voice to 'promise me you wont tell anyone.'
he drops to his knees and promises. afterwords, he wants to know, "what was that, exactly?"
she's kind of curious, and tries out her goddess voice on a clerk in the department store, compelling her to give her a discount, then to give her the product for free as a sample.
Issues
Does she need a weakness?

The 'transformation' happens too fast.
?? Make the artifact 'attach' to her immediately, but make it take a while for her to actually be transformed.
Let her get her memories piecemeal. Let her have dream sequences.
The topic of "goddess of the world" is too broad.

Story
A team of four archaeologists investigating the pyramids with penetrating scans discover artifacts buried deep underneath it. When they dig, they find two artifacts of power that show there is truth to the stories of the Egyptian gods. One artifact melts into a woman and causes her to sprout wings, like the Goddess Isis. While the rest are in awe, contemplating how this is possible, why they buried them, and what to do with the discovery, she realizes the immense magic power she has. When the decide perhaps the artifacts are better left un-found, she refuses to hand it over, testing and demonstrating the power. Then she claims Ra's staff for herself as well. When she reaches the outside, and she's shone on by the sun, the staff merges with her, and she becomes physically large (12 feet tall, pic) and powerful, and revealing ancient memories to her.
The others run up to plead with her, only to be stunned silent by her new size. She declares her intentions (to end war, famine, hatred), revealing that she has the memories of the former wielders of power, and she sets off a magic shock-wave, rebuilding and revitalizing the desert back into the lush green 'fertile crescent' in a matter of minutes.
Within an hour, every major news outlet is covering the growing worship, as people pilgrimage just to see her. The crowd starts to clamor to get close and get out of hand, so she anoints six women to 'guard' her, embedding them with beauty, 8' size, and strength. They hold the crowd away from her.
Meanwhile, her 'husband' back home sees the news and recognizes her as his wife (though she looks different). She tries to call him but gets no answer.
When the crowd has reached thirty thousand, she speaks, and demonstrates her power (riding a levitating disc over the crowd, healing the sick, blessing good fortune on the poor). She ends by explaining what she expects of them, and that she has to leave for now, as there are many other people on earth who need her.
She flies quickly to a dictator in Syria.... standing at his palace, using mental projection to communicate with him, while the guards are 'in awe' of her. He expresses mild resistance, which she suggests is 'not a good idea'. Once inside, she explains her intentions. She knows everything, exactly what he's done, (she lists off some of his abuse of power). She explains that she could remove him, but it will make a more powerful statement for people to see a formerly terrible ruler turn good. She explains exactly what he will do to reverse his practices. He is trying to remain strong, and curiously acts exactly how she's going to get him to do that. She explains as she casts a spell, causing him to experience profound pain whenever he uses his greed or power against others.
Her husband watches on, as the news reports her appearances, on a generally westward path. Reporting on the remarkable political transformation left in her wake. He (and the whole world) are stopped, riveted by what is occurring.
Then suddenly, she appears behind him, in their home. (or somewhere else?)
He's shocked. She explains that she is no longer his husband, but a part of her will always love him.
