Summary

• A poor boy in middle early finds an injured small animal. Cares for and grows up with it (it is smart enough to understand him, and grows substantially as well). It turns out the pet is a shapeshifter, and takes the form of a large wolf. Eventually the pet learns what it is to be human, and temporarily shifts into a woman. It's mute, but gives him more pleasure than he bargained for. Staying his wolf-companion, it becomes very protective, posessive, and also continues to grow, eventually necessitating another form (bear? dragon?). It also continues to explore it's female shape. It's continued growth means the female form is bigger than him, and eventually, minigts. Eventually it learns to speak.

• a poor boy in middle-earth finds an unusual small bird-sized animal while out hunting in the woods.

• Brings it home to nurture it. The pet becomes his constant companion, riding his shoulder constantly.

• Only it's getting rapidly bigger, and as he soon finds out, it's a shapeshifter.

• By the time the boy is a man, the pet is more of a companion (it understands him well), and at his suggestion has taken the shape of a large wolf.

• Royalty with a beautiful daughter spends a few days in town, and he's infatuated at the sight of her.

• When she leaves, he's monologuing with his companion about how much he adores her, and the companion shifts to look like her (naked of course).
