goddess planet
the first intersellar spacecraft is sent to the first ever human inhabitable world detected.... the gravity is lower, but otherwise suitable.
why do they have the resort, and why do they send the astronauts there?
maybe the astronauts land in water, move ashore, and then find the goddesses. goddesses can predict their every whim, and are strangely compelled to comply.
maybe the astronauts are found by an individual, and are really 'captured' as a fascination.
dream planet - siren world - forbidden planet
spacecraft in search of a lost vessel finds it at an alien world, many ships are derlect and drifting in space
the conciousness is 'energy', and is curious about the corporeal beings, asks them questions, tempts them with their dreams
ship captain is concerned with his crew and the other ships in the area, the entity doesn't understand why he is so concerned with corporeal things.. he could have anything he can imagine.
ship mates are individually led by the socratic method to 'design' their environment... one creates an island resort, another recreates a 'pleasure stay' with women serving him, a female crew member conjures her boyfriend to her (is it really him? what's the difference?)
ship captain turns the game around, and starts asking questions. why is the entity so concerned with corporeal beings? focused experience, depth of emotion. Are you incapable of taking on a form? Why not take on a form and experience it? would you like me to take on a form? what form would you have me take? (a demure and stunningly attractive woman)
the island resort conjures a drink to his hand, makes it disappear, conjures it again, and is so fascinated by the magic he 'wishes' for his shipmates to see it.... which brings them all together. he tells them about the 'wishes', and then realizes in his excitement he didn't recognize the new person (the demure form made for the captain), starts talking to her, "what name would you like me to have?"
