Almost Home by Emersen Armida ('26)

I have dreams

A lot of them

Some may not even be realistic, and that’s okay

But I dream to drive through a summer night, aimlessly driving with my people

Blasting music while the windows are down, not a care in the world

Not even caring what will be waiting for me at home

I might not be home for a while

Instead, I’ll just drive, and drive, and drive

Until I feel like I’m there

Somewhere unfamiliar

Maybe a grassy field

We sit down

Watching as the sun sets

Without our phones

We don’t need to capture the moment… Why bother?

I’ll remember that moment forever.
