Senior Splendor in Cancún!

By The Shielded Señor

After the Class of 2021’s Student Government and the District Administration worked tirelessly to survey a very ✨diverse sample of our graduating seniors, they have decided to cancel the senior luncheon in New Jersey and replace it with a trip to Cancún. It felt way too cheap for such a memorable experience. The overwhelming majority of students felt like they just needed to safely party it out in Cancún and cry away all their sadness in the Gulf of Mexico.

“These seniors had such a tough year, ya know? Go big or go New Jersey… we go big,” claims Mr. Armida, who will be accompanying the students as a chaPALrone. (He prefers to maintain friendly relationships with the students as their pal, so he can learn where the best (obviously, safe) fiestas are.)

Seniors in AP Spanish believe that a trip to Cancún’s hotel district would completely immerse them in the Mexican culture. “It’s basically like studying abroad…for six nights at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel with the Posh® Beauty Spa and golf course. ¡Nueva Jersey, no way… I want a nuevo país!,” claims our most recent Spanish Seal of Biliteracy achiever, who is ready to ask “¿Dónday está el bañyo?” and order the hamburguesas con queso in perfect inglés for their monolingual friends.

“The Hard Rock Hotel confirmed with us that the trip will be 1.00% safe for our group of 600 students. Students are on a strict safety policy. No Corona… as in no coronavirus!” claims PrinciPAL Dr. Gill. “We will scatter ourselves in 20 different planes, so our students will not be crowded with each other. By the time the students check into the hotel, they won’t even have to unpack. Their flights home will already be prepared. At NR, we make it happen!”

The price of the trip is discounted at $2,000 and leaves June 11th. Mark your calendars! Tickets are available for purchase during lunch periods in the main foyer starting June 1st. Students must quarantine themselves for at least ten days before and after the trip, so they will not be allowed on the high school property at all during June if they intend to travel. The trip will return before graduation. Students can only go if they will receive their diploma at the graduation on June 25th. Tickets are limited! Reserve your spot in early June, and don’t forget to quarantine for la fiesta
