A Unique Spirit Week!

By Valentina Omotosho ('23) and Christmiah Louisjean ('24)

Last week, Spirit Week hit the ground running at NRHS! The vast amounts of Raider Pride exhibited by the school is only evidence that we are the strongest community in Rockland! We will continue to scream and shout in the crowds of the bleachers year after year, stronger and stronger! Here are some of the highlights from the most popular days of Spirit Week!

Tropical Tuesday! (It's totally tubular!)

Spirit Week started off with a colorful and an insanely rad approach through Tropical Tuesday! Many students dressed up with leis, Hawaiian shirts, and even some skim boards!

Class Color Day & the Pep Rally

Finally, to the fan-favorite: Class Color Day! To the students, this is known as Color Wars, as we all playfully compete to see who has the greatest surge of Raider Pride in all of the classes. Students dressed in colors representing their classes, teachers supporting several classes, and a general sense of community and togetherness guided the energy of the day. Not to forget, the sheer amount of athletic excellence the school holds, which was displayed as the names of sports phenomenons rang through the speakers of the field. The efforts of teachers, class advisors, and students who made the day a memorable one are highly appreciated.  If you were present at the Pep Rally, some could argue that the Seniors screamed the loudest they had ever screamed...

Overall, Spirit Week at North Rockland will always remain a powerful and uniting event. Administration was overwhelmingly surprised and thrilled with the participation and turnout of the students this year. In the words of our favorite coach, "There's only two types of people in this county: those who are Red Raiders, and those who wish they were Red Raiders."
