Farewell from the Valedictorian and Salutatorian

As the 2021-2022 school year comes to a close, all students begin to reflect on their year. In particular, it is rather surreal to reflect when you are graduating soon, and even more so when you are the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of your graduating class. Jessica Singh and Emma Linhart, the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2022 have worked tirelessly to achieve their positions, and now that they are departing from North Rockland, they would like to reflect on their time here as students.

"I will not deny that these last four years have been the most stressful and overwhelming years of my life. But all of the fun memories I have made and the incredible people I have met made it all worth it. I have a special place in my heart for the Robotics Team and our annual competitions. I will never forget the Girls Tennis Team and our bus rides to away matches. I will always remember the teachers who prioritize their students' mental health. These memories serve as a souvenir of my high school years, and I couldn't be more grateful for the time I've spent here."

"Looking back on my time at NRHS, I am so grateful for all the opportunities and experiences I have had here. As with anything, there have been ups and downs over the years, but I have always felt supported by my friends, faculty and the community. The ability to become involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities - whether it be Debate or ASL Club - has helped me form strong connections to my classmates and to the school as a whole. In addition, my teachers truly care about their students and have always pushed me to do my best. High school has taught me many things, both academically and socially, and has helped to shape me into the person I am today. As I begin the next stage of my life, North Rockland will always hold a special place in my heart."
