Along with these general nominations, artists were also nominated for different awards in their genre. This year, there were a few nominations that many don’t agree with, such as Olivia Rodrigo being nominated under the rock genre for one of her new songs “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl.” Some fans think that while the song and the album, GUTS, as a whole has some rock elements, that it's more pop rock than just rock.
On the whole though, most people are excited to see what the outcome is for next year’s GRAMMYs and are already making their predictions. The 66th annual award show is set to take place on February 4th, 2024, with three new categories debuting that day (Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording). This year’s host has yet to be announced but will most likely be revealed next month.
