In this street there are different buildings that have been catalogued and protected such as, in the part closest to the steps of the cathedral, the building of the old Town Hall, which was originally called Censuses street. From the end of the 15th century it was the seat of the Municipal Council and later of the City Council until 1852, when it was moved to the old Sant Domènec convent in Plaça de la Font.

A little further down, on the corner with Carrer de l'Abat, we find Casa de l'Abat, which was the residence of the Montoliu family and the Abbot of Poblet.

On the corner with Carrer dels Cavallers we have the Palau del Governador  (Governor’s Palace). As the headquarters of the old Generalitat in the city, during the 17th century it was the residence of the Governor and currently houses the territorial services of the Department of Culture.

Right next to  Baixada de la Misericordia and turning the corner with Carrer de la Nau, we find another of the noble houses, the Baron de les Quatre Torres house, which is currently highly remodeled, but still shows all its splendor.
