Thoracic spine must lift free of bed. This generally means fingers or wrists to knees in hands forward position.
This is a full sit up involving the spine lifting free of bed.
Progression of tests are:
Feet at 90°, hands behind head
Feet at 45°, hands behind head
Feet at 45°, hands across chest
Feet at 45°, hands on thighs
Feet at 45°, hands on thighs, feet held
Regress level if feet lift.
Monitor for the use of momentum, breath holding and rectus doming.
Comment on performance.
This is an abdominal endurance test.
It is performed with feet at 90 ° and hands on front of thighs.
The client is given 1 minute to perform as many sit up as possible
