Ensure you complete all movements required of the test
Comment on restrictions in movement, quality of pattern, crepitus, etc.
Consider the candidate's age. Be aware that range generally diminishes with age however any restrictions should be noted and make a comment whether the observed range is in keeping with normal age related articular changes.
Restrictions in mobility can be normal regardless of age and may be related to general morphology. Make note of any observed variances and consider if they will impact on the candidate's ability to perform the role.
Spinal:
Know normal range.
Consider influence of static posture, correct posture and observe changes.
Ensure you observe specific mobility within the region being tested – compensations thorough adjacent areas are common.
SLR:
Make particular note of significant asymmetry in SLR as this is often indicative of a past or current history of lumbo-pelvic issues.
Use of passive neck flexion or adjunctive tests may be appropriate to help determine nature of restriction.
Extremities:
Know normal range.
Consider influence of static posture, correct posture and observe changes.
Ensure you observe specific mobility within the region being tested – compensations thorough adjacent areas are common.
