Photo Montage

Al Drawing

Photos used in the montage

(1) In this project I combined multiple photos ( I had taken myself and from the web) into a "montage"; a collection of photographs pieced together that convey an underlying idea of something that is otherwise impossible. (2/3) This photo montage took multiple steps, I started out by taking pictures of all drawing. While photographing Al, I noticed how much methodical movement he put into his drawing. Al also draws slowly and at his own pace. These aspects (Rhythm and movement) are what I enunciated apon. I added multiple Al's to show how Al is constantly moving while he is drawing. I added the lunar phase chart to show rhythm; something that is ever present in Al's artistic process.

(1) My favorite part of this photo montage is the picture I used of Al, the lighting, composition and, the position of all work to create a dreamy vibe. (2) One thing I struggled with was keeping consistent lighting throughout. I handled this obstacle by working with the paint bucket tool and the clone stamp tool together. (3) If I could do one thing differently I would take more pictures of Al at different angles.
