Noodle Glasses

For this project I chose that reminded me of part of some sunglasses. My first thought was sunglasses. Then I had to think of a person to match the glasses. I wanted someone with flat top hair. From their I kept my style simple and warped looking, I purposely made things look a little off. I think it adds to the character and makes you really look at him. I also included a bowl of noodles on his head to keep with this "a little off theme"
I started with a graphite sketch and covered that up with colored pencils. I liked the freestyle colors I went with, and how the pencils allowed them to blend cohesively.
My first sketch was exactly what my drawing looks like now. I rapidly put my idea together, working and reworking it. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone with this and I plan on doing that into the future. My favorite part is the noodle bowl and the person's hair. It adds a lot of character. I used colors that contrasted throughout the peace. I also worked with lots of soft and strong lines making for lots of visual variation. Another detail I added was the floating noodles. I believe these act at really visually tying the peace together. they also contrast the blocky figure of the person's head. Over all i'm really proud of how this turned out. I love the new style I'm tapping into and I believe this peace is very visually stimulating.
