SI 10, Cousin icebergs

Ideas: For this project I wanted to create a frosty and mysterious or distant feeling scene that exaceraget of emulated the mood of the photograph.

Materials: For this painting I used watercolor and white gouache.

process: I started of with a blue wash to create a cool feel. I made sure to add blue to all of the colors I mixed for both the foreground and the background. I layered on white gouache with small amounts of blue in the foreground and background to create the icebergs and for the darker gray areas I added black to that mixture. I wanted there to be a cohesive feel to the painting and I did that by using the same color for the whole panting with different amount off white and black... tints and shades. I also set the horizon level higher up on the page, adding to the more ominous mood.
