SM-29 n SM-42 for green n blue lizard

For this project I made four mugs, two with lizard handles and two without. I used the slab technique for these pieces. I started with a ball of clay which I pressed into a slab with the force of gravity and a table and then the slab roller. I then wrapped the slab around a tennis ball container and newspaper to from the mug wall. Next, I added a bottom which was also made of a slab. i then added the two handles which were made out of modified coils. I angled in the rims of he mugs so they match the contour of your lips comfortably while leaving the walls thick for a comforting heavy weight. I'm extremely happy with this set of mugs, the stony blueish green color of the mug is the perfect of lively and earthy while the lizards add some spunk. i wish i was able to work faster so two of my 4 mugs didn't dry out too much to add handles but in the end I like the mix.
