Duck Stamp 2022

Idea: My idea was to paint a blue winged teal swimming through duckweed.

Materials: I used watercolor gouache mixed together to achieve differing opacities and colors.

Process I started with a green wash for the duckweed. I then added a tanish gray wash to the duck save for some highlight areas. After this i began adding darker shapes in for the feathurs. finally adding in the darks and lights with some additional texture work on the side and breast. I also added some texture to the duck weed closer to the duck but left the rest smother so the focus would stay on the duck.
