Foxy Psychedelic Fox (In appreciation of Murph)

1) The materials I used consisted of many Prismacolors, thin black sharpies a normal black sharpie and a light orange charpie. 2)my first step was to turn the drawing around and look at it from different angles. I then began defining the shapes I saw with a graphite pencil. from there I added color to the shapes I saw. 1st the banana then, the chocolate popsicle, next I defined what is now the fox. Then came the tail of the fox (above the popsicle) and lastly the pineapple. 3) all the colors used in my blind contour drawing speak to each other; they add a balance that wasn't there when it was just lines.

The background of the pineapple is a orange red color which speaks to the orange fox, this creates balance. The blue ombrè Surrounding everything creates a sense of unity. The orange background of the pineapple also is a great example of contrast. The form of the chocolate drop from the popsicle represents some movement.

1) Although there was no story behind my work of art when I started it could be said the the fox is hungry and thinking of food. this is so because the whole drawing has a vivid dream-like Quality to it. This ideas is further accentuated by the fox's tong extended towards the pineapple. 2) I am most proud of the way the pineapple turned out and the way its background accentuates it's leafy top. 3) my maine struggle was what to do with the large oval that is now the body of the pineapple. It was a daunting shape and at first I ignored it; even when I decided to turn it into a pineapple I wasn't sure it was the right choice until I had started adding the leaves. The redish fade to orange is what made me like that part the most.
