About me

My name is Oliver Beardsley, I was born in Connecticut and I have four half siblings. I also have two cats… Rosie and Hugo. My career goal is to become a creative director, working with photography and marketing. Five years in the future I see myself either just out of college connecting with business for job opportunities or internships or heading for my masters degree. I don't know many people who went to college for art, but One of my friend's cousins did go to art school and a close family friend went to liberal art college and is an artist, as is his wife. I am most proud of my photography and feeling comfortable with myself. In my free time I enjoy surfing, XC, and downhill skiing, hiking, skating and exploring new places. I enrolled in this course because I want to be a photographer and there's always something new to learn. The photographers that interest me the most are photographers documenting pop culture such as Theo Skudra, Ray, Gunner Stahl, Chris Skylark. I also find more lifestyle photographers interesting such as Ryan Fields, James Barkman, Riley Harper, Harrison Mark, Willem Verbeeck, Russell Holliday, Ryan Valasek, Corban Campbell and Colin Nearman.

A$AP Rocky

I like this peace becasus of the flash and how raw and in your face it feels. It also has an amazing amount of contrast with the yellow heads of the ballons and Rocky's head in front, aswell as the bandanna cutting the frame in half diagonaly. The bandanna aslo puts a lot of tension on the head of Rock, with the edg of the bandanna so close to his jawline. The monochromness of the photo aslo adds emphesis to the few things in frame.

A$AP Rocky

I like this photo because of the flash aswell, but it has a more casual feeling to it than the first. The geometric shapes around Rocky make for some subtle framing and the monochromatic look ads emhpesis to the subject.

Live art the Apollo

I like how the light from the stage is just barily gliniting of peoples faces, sorta making you wonder what there looking at. This was a Drake performacne. I also like how moody the crowd lighting makes the whole photo feel. The grain of the photo also really matches the rest of the photo.

GREEN GOBLIN

This artis makes coluges of photographs and color for magazines and such. I find it really intresting how he blocks up the frame and adds his own framing. The color is also really intreaging sense this is a black and white photo.

I love the layers of this photo from the land cruzer, to the mountains in the distance. I also love how evrything moving in the frame is going the same direction. It feels like a shot froma wes anderson film. This photo also has gread dynamic range with strong darks and not blown out lights.

I really like the strong framing of this photo and how makes you want to step out onto the beach aswell. The shadow line aslo creates drame around the subjects. It's also anonymous becasue the figures are silhouettes, so its easer for the view to put themsevs in the subjects shoes.
