My Ideal Room

Colorful Hallway

9 x 12

(1) To start this project we started by drawing a simple room. we then drew a room with furniture doors and windows. We then moved on to the final project. I started out by looking for a perspective I wanted to draw. I then photographed and printed the view. from there I began to recreate the image on paper. (2) I started out by choosing a vanishing point and making sure that all my lines lead to it. I started in pencil and then cleaned everything up with a V5 pen. I then moved onwards to add my own personal touches. First, I selected a color color pallet (Some reddish pink salmonie colors, yellow and, some blues and greens.) I then chose what color I wanted to represent the doors, the walls, the trim... etc to create a unified look. to finish everything off o colored the floor tiles gray leaving some white and did the same to the sealing. This brought emphasis to everything else thats colorful. I also used bright colors to make the walls stand out. And, I usd line to make some texture for the window pains.

This piece of art has no particular meaning other making the mundane seem magical. The thing I am most proud of in my artwork is the way the colors work together and contrast each other at the same time. It creates a great dynamic. One thing I struggled with was making my tiles fade away at a constant rate. I overcame this with some trial and error and help from Mr A.
