Cousins Lines

3x5

Watercolor, gouache, paint markers

Idea: My idea for this painting was to create a desolate cold beautiful scene. I also wanted to incorporate an exaggerated angle upwards and.

Materials: Watercolor, gouache, Sharpie, paint pen

Process: using limited colors helps to convey a desolate feeling by leaving less for the eye to observe. the contrast between the poles and wires with the sky and moon helps to emphasize the beauty of the subtle color gradient of the sky. The dramatic angle up helps with the desolate feeling since there is no horizon to ground the image.
