Sustained Investigation

How can I affect the atmosphere of a photo by taking inspiration from movies like wes anderson or Chinatown. 

The photoes above are from a few of my favorite movies... Chinatown, and The Royal Tenenbaums. The Royal Tenenbaums is by Wes Anderson who is known for his unique compositions, usally swaying towards center ballenced compospitoions or very dead on ballanced compositions and strong cinamatic lighting along with oddly specefic and unusial interiors or exteriors. His cast is also often very standoutish looking and so is the backround or decore of his sets. Lastly, I knoted a somewhat relaxed formalness to all his actors, they seem to be slyly posing for the camera which creates a lot of interaction with the vewer. With this inmind along with the most dramatic shots from Chinatown in mind I persued a strong centerweighted dramatic and cinematic looking photo. 

From a number of diffrent weekend photo opertunities, I'v compiled my photos most true to Chinatown, and The Royal Tenenbaums cinematography. The michanic shop shots have the dramatics of Chinatown in the coiloring and angles, but the shot of the wto mechanics is more along the lines of that sly posing from Wes anderson movies. Thomas, the mechanic on the right gesturing with his IPA reminds me of the last photo of Owen wilson. The second shot of the car with the engine out from the side is also some classic dead center Wes composition making. The deli photos have a strong warm cinematic lighitng and heavy informal ballance. this photoe reminds me of the second from the top Royal Tenenbaums sean I have listed. Lastly, the two photoes I have friom inside the movies really fall into a very Wes anderson looking atmosphere, lots of quircky interior design and the strong color palet and centerweighted lighting and focus of the two photoes both reflect a wes anderson mivew scene waiting for a charecter to be droped into.
