Blending/Clone Stamp

Blending with eraser

Clone stamp

(first set of photos) 1) For the first part of this project I blended two photographs together. 2) The first step was to put the picture of Henry on top of the landscape shot of Malibu. next, I scrolled through the list of blending modes until I found one I liked. after this I faded the edges of the photo in front (Henry). Then utilizing the eraser tool I removed parts of the the graffiti leaving behind the graffiti that overlapped the land or what framed henry. 3) I left the graffiti behind the henry and in front of the land to make sure you could see sky in the photo. this also created balance.

(second set of photos) 1) for the second part of this project I removed the satellite with the clone stamp tool. 2) the first step was to open the photo in PS then, I decided I would remove the satellite. I did this by selecting a place for the stamp to clone from that was close to where I was removing from. This avoids discoloring in the ski. 3) I decided to remove the satellite because I knew it would change the subject of the picture from the satellite to the landscape. It makes the landscape stand out more, it also makes u realize how much you focus on the satellite to begin with.

One thing I struggled with was discoloration while using the clone stamp tool. I overcame this by moving slower with the selection point closer to what I was removing. My favorite edit is the blending one, I really like the way the two photos worked together. The colors in both photos complemented and matched each other. This created a pleasing sense of unity throughout the photo.
