photoshop portrait

For this project I transformed a self portrait into a graphic using photoshop. I started by tracing important features of my portrait like eyes, my hat and mask etc. Then, I used the eyedropper and paint bucket tool to fill in the blocked out shapes to make a 2D looking image. One way I experimented was by sampling different colors with the eyedropper tool and seeing how the affected the space looked.

I used line and color to create contrast. I also tried to use a small color pallet to create unity within my portrait.

My project relates to my life because it's a portrait of me. I'm proudest of the hair and ear area of my portrait, they look really free flowing and realistic. One thing I struggled with was finding my paint bucket tool, this set me back a day. I overcame this by asking friends and a teacher.
