Hands

For this progect, I fucused on my moms hands doing something that's a ritual to her. Making the mroning coffee is a daily event, so theirs a lot fluidity to her process. The stainless steel french press she uses is also a great adotonial focial point with its vivid reflections that create more views of her hands in the photo. I used my Nikon D5500. With the reflections of the press being a promonint part of the photos I focused on finding ways to get the hands to show up in them to add mor emhpesis to the subject of hands. The harsh lines of the contrasty reflections also stand out against the more soft orgnic lines of the hands making for a dynamic subject. I'm most proud of the pouring coffee photo with the hand reflected from the back in the top of the french press. These two views in one photo acreates a synamatic and very multi demensial feeling I strive for.
