Higgins Haze

12x9

Prismacolor marker

sketch^

Ideas: My idea was to create a foggy-hazy undiscovered atmosphere. I wanted the atmosphere make you want to look into the photo. Your exploring down the coastline with your own eyes, walking through smoke from campfires and foggy ocean air.

Materials: For this project, I used 3 shades of Prismacolor markers.

Process: To create interest and haze I used lots of layering. My foreground is clear and full of contrasty while the farther away the less detail is included. This creates value, making you look into the drawing, wondering what is back there. The scene I drew is based on a photo I took the same day I made this drawing. I took the photo at higgins beach after surfing.
