Goddess

Goddess

Goddess ignites the winds

sweeping their way across

wet clover desert

wild and flowing

oblivious to direction

carrying sonorous melodies

Goddess captures August imagination

her simplicity

her silence

envelopes a man’s heart

judgment non-existent

all are her brothers, sisters

Goddess arranges garden wildflowers

her kittens

soft sweet smelling

born new to the earth

her hands mix the colors abounding

conceiving new greens

reflected in her midnight hazel eyes

Goddess veils her journeys

subterranean

where ingenious sparks of life live

that she revisits to rekindle her strength

drinking deeply from underground Piscean waters,

her harbor of radiance and peace

and none may follow

though her lovers have tried

begged her to take them,

yet she is a great bird

eying only her eternal nest

her serene home

floating along the rich skies of our lives

yes, here I wish

to drink gently from her eyes

sip from her wisdom for a moment

a thirsty willow tree

to a summertime cool stream

and to lie close together in dreams

resting lightly inside the pool of her breasts

her fingers dancing in my hair

no voices touching my ears

no distractions rubbing my eyes,

to drown together lost

both underground and skyward

eternal

immortal
