The Gate

the gate

the gate swung open

little mystery between the two…

(trees in the yard well-watered,

silver born out of the day).

the armies marched by each other

saluting the lightening,

loading their guns,

reloading their guns with rusted rain.

when we are dancing

we are eating strawberries,

exchanging strawberries.

the gate swung open after the storm.
