Semantics

Semantics is the study of meaning in language. It's all about understanding how words, phrases, and sentences convey meaning and how we interpret that meaning when we communicate with others.

Semantics is like a puzzle for words:

Imagine that every word in a language is like a puzzle piece. Each piece has a specific shape and fits into the puzzle in a particular way. Now, just like you put puzzle pieces together to create a picture, in language, we put words together to create meaning. Semantics is the study of how those pieces (words) fit together to create a complete and understandable picture (a message or idea).

Understanding semantics allow you to make better choices in diction and syntax
