Directions

Create a fictional product--one that does not exist in reality, but it should them film a commercial for it. 1-2 minutes.

It can be imaginative, satirical, or practical, but it should be something that you can convincingly promote.

Ensure that the product allows for the integration of ethos, pathos, and logos appeals.

Scriptwriting:

Write a script for the commercial. The script should incorporate persuasive language and techniques to appeal to the speaker's credibility, as well as the audience's emotions and logical reasoning.

Consider the target audience for the product and tailor the script accordingly.

You must use proper screenplay formatting 

Filming:

Film the commercial using whatever equipment you have available (e.g., smartphone, camera, etc).

Pay attention to visual elements such as lighting, framing, and background to enhance the persuasive impact of the commercial.

Ensure that the delivery of lines is clear, convincing, and engaging.

Submission:

Submit the completed commercial to Google Classroom by the specified deadline.


In-Class Presentation:

In-class, we will watch each commercial and analyze its effectiveness.

After each commercial, the class will discuss how rhetorical appeals were utilized, the effectiveness of the delivery, and any areas for improvement.

Evaluation Criteria:

You will also write a breakdown of all the appeals and techniques you used and explain why you used them. Consider some popular persuasive techniques used in advertising.
