Synthesis Reading April 2

Read everything on this page before you click any links.

Next week you be writing a Synthesis Essay. You will be given a prompt and sources and two days to write the essay. Before we do that , you should get familiar with what a great synthesis essay looks like.

1. Imagine your received this Synthesis Prompt. Read the prompt and the sources then return to this page.

2. Think about the argument you would construct, the sources you would use, and how you would organize your argument.

3. Read these sample essays (pay close attention to the first 2...they both received a score of 6).

4. Tomorrow I will post a link to a Zoom Meeting. We will discuss the dos and don'ts and you will be able to ask questions before we start the essay (it will be posted the next day that our class meets).
