For the top image i used sharpie, chalk pastels and my fingers to shade the chalk. the picture is of the negative space around my jar and makeup brushes. the background its made up of groovy patterns over a circle like blurs of blue. the 2nd drawing is of a value scale starting at the beginning from darkest to lightest. i used a lot of patterns in the back ground to add more complexity and rhymes to the picture. i used framing to capture the cropped images negative space and from the value scale.
so for the top image i started with just the simple chalk blurry in the background but them decided to out line the jar with sharpie. the jar was too vibrant for the soft lighted background. so to spice it up a bit i added some groovy zentangles. i choose to do this object because it had a very inserting negative space with all the overlapping brushes. also i really love makeup. its like a fun type of art thats limited edition for the day and everyone sees it. so the meaning to this is that with makeup you can do all these "groovy" things if you just open up your mind a bit. i i was to revise one of theses pictures i would pick the makeup brush one. i would revise this or do it again by cropping the image to the top of the jar. so the bottom of the page would be the brushes and it would be like a jagged bootom. i would also revise the value scale and not shaded it. only because we weren't suppose to do that for the assignment.
