This is a sculpture of an older man with his organs spilling out of his split open abdomen area. He is made up of clay, sculpty, ink, and sculpty glaze. I started with making the body, first the head, then the torso and lastly the legs and arms. after the man had finally dried and been fired I set to work covering him in ink. I like using the ink on clay because it is easily absorbed into the clay and gives it more texture and variety in color placement while leaving the rough surface. After he was painted I started to stuff the hole in his abdomen with the sculpty, creating organ-like structures. I glazed the organs with the special sculpty glaze, which drys clear and shiny, however, I choose to take pictures of him with the glaze still wet to give it that puss/slimy like look.
