Independent Project #1
Flayed Francis
Made with pen and alcohol based markers. The image is of an older woman who has been opened (Flayed) down her abdomen, displaying her internal organs. I love all the bright use of color in this one and how that helped to exacerbate the internal organs. I didn't sketch out the internal part before, which I should have. Because I was just winging it with the pen some organs don't line up. of course, it wasn't going to be perfect because the organs were spread out and stretched a little. If you look closely you will see miss placements like the bladder behind the spin. I can't think of anything I would want to change other then reshaping the hands and feet a little better, as well as, moving organs around, like the bladder. A struggle with this was that as I reached the end my markers started to die so getting a solid color was difficult. Another challenge was figure out if I had already done the organ or not, and where to put it so as to be right but also stretched out.
