Composite Figure

Post Malone and The London Eye

Everyone in the class drew 2 words from a bag that the class helped filled with random nouns. Other drew things like robot + snowflake, Beaver + ripped jeans, or cow + Whale. I, however, got Post Malone, a famous rapper, and the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel. At first, I was stumped I didn't want to just put the London eye in the background, or have him in it, but how else was I supposed to combine them? Other than having a Ferris wheel, I wasn't happy about getting post-Malone either because I don't like his music or his look (greasy and high) and to add him to the piece I would have to actually draw somthong that makes him look like him and not just a person. I decided that i would use bristal paper and my Copic markers + pens to create the piece. I used a reference photo to help with the portions of his face, which came out pretty well. Something I dislike in the piece is his hair, as beautiful and lush as I made it, it is not his hair, which is gross and naturally greased back. I do really like all the detail in his tattoos and the shading of him. It was hard to do the tattoos because I couldn't figure out what a lot of the ones on his arms where and how to add his tattoos that he got after he took the picture I was using for reference. I could’ve spent more time on making the London eye halo look cleaner and more precise, by adding more detail and crispy line work
