One Earth

For the scholastics One Earth prompt I choose to make a series of extended prints to show how climate change and pollution impacts our earth. I used linoleum blocks to make my stamps, creating 4 stamps of; the water, continents, clouds, and fire. I became very frustrated with the prints because there weren't coming out solid, they were speckly and see through. However, I was able to work with this by adding paint markers over, creating Intimate or elaborative detail. My favorite extended print is the top image where there are two Earths because it stuck to my original theme of having one brighter Earth and one darker Earth, representing the change earth will undergo from climate change and pollution would have. I really struggled with this piece where I don't necessarily like one whole image but certain parts of each. if I were to change something or go back I'd probably make another print using the knowledge I have now of what I like and don't like when extending the print. I think this piece would have had a better composition if I chose a different type of paper and did more Earths on it so, it would be similar to a value scale but with my Earth Prints and it be around as tall as me. I really like how a lot of the healthier looking Earths came out and how the blue paint marker contrasted with the original blue background and how the light green went with the green ink for the continents. Having the colors that I had in paint markers made it difficult to elaborate the dark Earth without making it too bright, but I think that they really helped with the elaboration of the brighter earth.
