#4 Halved Harry

For my fourth concentration, I made an older persons head where part of it is only the skull and brain. It is only made of Plaster of Paris. To start building it I made a large bucket of plaster to harden. This was the first mistake, I added to much water so the plaster wouldn't dry, meaning I had to make another bucket of plaster and wait for it to dry. then came the second mistake, I didn't put Vaseline or saran wrap in the bucket so the plaster wouldn't come out. after spending an hour trying to loosen the block. after it was finally out I began shaving huge chunks of, slowly shaping the head. after struggling to make the head somewhat portion I started to lay down the sketches for the skull half. the hardest part in creating the shape was the top of the head because it was harder up there so when shaving the plaster down the marks would be bumpy and uneven. things I would like to change would be the smoothness in the head, better shaping in the teeth and brain. I want to add color to this piece in the future and hopefully add more detail to places like the brain.
