This is made up of stained glass that was fused together in a kiln. I'm very surprised to see that it worked considering id never done it before, let alone not knowing exactly how to do it, or if the glass I used would be compatible. There were a few glass fractures but none went all the way through. I'm ecstatic about how some of the glass like on the gun or nose came out unshiny and weird, or how some clear glass became solid like some yellow glass. The piece is of an older man blowing his brains out; I choose to make this the subject for two reasons, 1 because it would be a simple design to do with glass, and 2, people over the age of 85 and are male is one of the highest-ranking age groups involved with suicide. My favorite part is the brain splatter because of the way it melted looking like drops and just really smooth. Other than this being new material it was interesting to see me struggle with the abstractness of the piece, as I tend to be detail orientated. Cutting the glass and creating the image was like a puzzle, very tedious and frustrating, especially because it didn't look like what was in my head.
