This is a Bison Butt draw from a bison figurine. He is in an open plain staring off into the sky full of white, fluffy clouds. He is content with his butt.
This is ah butt from a Musk Ox figurine. He is in a grassy field, debating if he should hold a grudge at the bison who has a more lean butt than himself.
I choose a bison and a musk ox figurine to draw for this project. I wanted to focus on butts because they are the opposite of the head, which is a common focus point. Working with the idea of drawing butts, I looked through the pile of figures looking for the most intriguing butts. Things like skin/fur, texture, the rise of the back, leg posture, tail placement, where all things I considered when picking. I made the Bison butt first, but I it went by very fast so I had time to make another. I choose to use the blueish gray paper so I could use white highlights. I used a .1 drawing pen and a black and white Prismacolor pencil. If I were to change something about this piece i would work on the shape of the ox's horns or the bisons butt shape. The bisons butt does seem a little lean to me or could at least use some more shading/texture. I really like that the images are simple but still make you smile because of the focus point.
