Year 9 MATHEMATICS 2024

TERM 1 : Algebraic Techniques, Trigonometry and Equations

In Term 1, all students will learn to select the appropriate Algebraic Techniques to operate with algebraic expressions and use these techniques to solve a variety of problems including real-world problems. 

Next, the students begin their investigation of the topic Trigonometry. They will explore the connection between similar triangles and their angles. 

In the Equations topic, students will solve simple and complex linear equations, quadratic and cubic equations and interpret and model real-life situations using equations.

During Term 1, students will complete the Year 9 Task 1 assessment. The mark will contribute to 50% of the overall Semester 1 Year 9 Report mark.
