Term 1  Unit 1: Twisted by the Pool

Our Goal This term is to:

Develop an understanding of how artists use their world as a source of inspiration for artworks. Develop an understanding of how artists may utilise their own and others’ subjective experiences to create new artworks. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in creating a Body of Work utilising a variety of two and three-dimensional artmaking techniques.

We will achieve this by:

• Investigating how artists use abstraction to represent their ideas in a non-representational way. 

• Recognising what can be revealed about the artist and their world through their artworks.

• Investigating the subjective nature of art and how art can be used to represent deep thoughts, experiences and feelings.

• Developing processes for utilising structural techniques to communicate meaning.
