Year 10 Mathematics Core
TERM 3, 2025
Linear Relationships B
Students get to know, understand, explore, make connections with the gradient, slope, y-intercept, parallel and perpendicular line effects on straight lines through equations and graphs. Teachers model critical thinking learning through seeing straight lines in real life and analysing ways to make connections between using gradient/slope calculations and equations of parallel or perpendicular straight lines.
Non-Linear Relationships B
Students will be able to graph and examine quadratic relationships, graph and examine exponential relationships and distinguish between linear, quadratic, and exponential relationships by examining their graphical representations.
Variations and Rates B
Students will learn how to describe the rate of change of a graph as constant or variable, increasing or decreasing.
They will interpret distance-time graphs when speed is variable and then finally construct graphical representations of rates of change of quantities over time from descriptions.
