Year 10 Mathematics Core

TERM 3, 2026

We will begin Term 3 with Topic 8 – Linear Relationships B. Students will investigate the different forms of lines, specifically the gradient/slope-intercept form. This will then be extended to working with parallel and perpendicular lines.

Next in Topic 9 – Non-Linear Relationships B, students will graph and examine quadratic and exponential relationships. They will be able to distinguish between linear, quadratic and exponential relationships by examining their graphical representations

Lastly, in Topic 10 – Variation & Rates B, students will analyse graphs that are decreasing or increasing at a constant rate. They will also Identify and describe graphs involving direct and inverse variation. Finishing off with constructing graphical representations of rates of change.

During Term 3, students will complete Task 3 which contributes to 20% of the students’ overall assessment for the year.
