Term 2 2024

Through the study of Unit 2, Il benessere parte da noi, students will review how to talk about daily routine and healthy habits, discuss hobbies, part-time jobs and sports. They will also discuss the importance of mindfulness and stress management and how  young people can balance study, hobbies and part-time jobs. Students will compare healthy habits and the work lives of different groups of young people in Italy and in other countries.

Through the study of Liberi di viaggiare free to travel e Tutto il mondo e' paese  the whole world is a country, students compare holiday trends for young Italian adults, reflect on Australia as a travel destination for Italian-speaking travellers, reflect on the importance of Cultural holidays, talk about holiday they have been on or would like to go on, discuss and reflect on sustainable travel.

 They learn more about the lifestyle of the different Italian communities around the world and compare them with yours. Students examine what binds communities and what cultural aspects are adopted by other countries. They are introduced to the present subjunctive in Italian. Revise the past tense and Imperfect. Revise direct and indirect object pronouns. They will learn reflexive verbs with Imperfetto and Passato Prossimo. A focus on interrogative pronouns, prepositions and conjuctions help students to express themselves in spoken Italian in a more authentic way.

We will achieve this by:

• using online resources to complete games and activities as Education Perfect

• reading and writing Italian texts that make use of key structures learnt in class

• creating role plays and writing texts in Italian that implement the key structures learnt in class

• listening and responding to spoken Italian

• employing a range of strategies to recall key vocabulary
