Students will begin Term 3 by completing the final two Advanced topics. In Modelling Investments and Loans, students will use published tables to calculate the future value and present value of an annuity. The Recurrence Relation will also be investigated.
Once students return after their exam block, we begin our final topic, Financial Applications of Sequences and Series. This builds on their previous topic but specifically focuses on applying arithmetic and geometric sequences and series to financial contexts like borrowing and investing.
After the completion of the final topic, the students will prepare extensively for the HSC Examinations. Students need to ensure that they are practicing past papers, including HSC exams and seeking teacher assistance when required.
During Term 3, students will complete their Task 4 Trial HSC Examination in both the Advanced and Extension 1 Courses. These will contribute 40% of the overall assessment for each course.
