Year 12 MATHEMATICS EXTENSION 1 2026
Starting Term 4 (2025) and ending 2026, students will complete the HSC Mathematics Extension 1
and Mathematics Advanced courses.
It is a NESA requirement for students studying these courses to complete assessment Tasks 1 to 4 for BOTH the
Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1 courses.
TERM 1
Advanced: Differentiation of Trigonometric, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Applications of First and Second Derivatives,
The Antiderivative and Indefinite Integral, Areas and the definite integral.
Extension 1: Introduction to Vectors, Further Operations of Vectors.
In Term 1, students will complete HSC Task 2 for the both the Mathematics Advanced Course and the
Mathematics Extension Course.
They will both contribute 30% of the overall assessment for each course.
