Unit 4- Morality & Moral Integrity

Our goal for Term 4 is to explore Christian teachings on moral behaviour and acting with moral integrity, which are found in Jesus’ teachings and Church Tradition. Through applying these teachings and our learnings from case studies, we will come to an understanding of what it means to act with moral integrity.

BIG IDEA: a student will understand that: 

• Christian teachings provide guidelines for acting with moral integrity and informing one’s conscience.

We will achieve this by:

• Researching Kholberg's stages of moral development

• Reading and interpreting Scripture, specifically Jesus' teachings on behaviour which shows moral integrity

• Reading Catholic Church teachings or Tradition on conscience

• Analysing contemporary articles for their insights into behaviour which shows moral integrity, and considering how these reflect Scripture and Tradition

• Viewing and reflecting upon examples of people who have behaved with moral integrity.

We have this/these goals because:

• As we develop morally and intellectually, we need to inform our conscience in order to act with moral integrity.
