Unit 3- Living Simply

Our goal for Term 3 is to explore the idea of living simply and to investigate ways individuals and organisations can live a more simple, just and sustainable life .

Big idea: Living simply is a lifestyle choice promoted in Biblical and Catholic Social Teachings to focus each person on what is most important in their lives and to protect the common good and promote justice.

We will achieve this by:

• Defining key terms related to living simply

• Distinguishing needs and wants

• Researching and reflecting on relevant Scripture teachings and Catholic Church Tradition which promotes living simply, specifically Catholic Social Teachings.

• Researching the United Nations Declaration of Human rights and what constitutes fair living standards

• Exploring ways individuals and organisations can live a more simple, just and sustainable life.

We have this/these goals because:

• We believe that each person has human dignity which must be protected and the Scriptures call us to live more simple and just lives.
