Unit 1- New Testament

Big idea: .The New Testament has distinctive Christian themes and values which play a significant role in the everyday lives and decisions of Christians. 

We will achieve this by investigating:

• What is the New Testament and why is it important for Christians?

• What are the themes and values of key passages in the NT? 

• How can NT values be demonstrated by Christians in everyday life?

We have this/these goals because:

• Values are based on key New Testament passages e.g. love, service, charity, faith and hope

• Jesus’ parables and miracle stories reflect his teaching about the Kingdom of God

• There is important Christian information on the authorship, audience and portrait of Jesus of at least one of the Gospels and one of Paul’s letters

• Key passages from the New Testament illustrate how to live a Christian life e.g. The Beatitudes

• It is worth being familiar with

• It is important as Christians to know ways Christians can demonstrate NT values in everyday life
