7 Geography

Rationale: The purpose of this study is to develop geographical knowledge and understanding related to the concept of liveability. Students explore the factors that influence people’s perceptions of the liveability of places and investigate the features and characteristics that support and enhance wellbeing, including community identity, environmental quality, and access to services and facilities. Through geographical inquiry, students examine places across a range of scales, analyse information from a variety of sources, and apply geographical concepts and skills to assess liveability. Students then evaluate the liveability of places and propose strategies to enhance the liveability of a place in Australia.
