Year 12 MATHEMATICS EXTENSION 2 2026
Starting Term 4 (2025) and ending 2026, students will commence the HSC Mathematics Extension 2 course.
We will build on the skills gained in the Advanced and Extension 1 courses.
TERM 3
Students will begin Term 3 by completing the final topic. In Projectiles and Resisted Motion, students will solve problems involving projectile motion in a resisting medium and under the influence of gravity which include consideration of the complete motion of a particle projected vertically upwards or at an angle to the horizontal.
Once students return after their exam block, they will prepare extensively for the HSC Examinations. Students need to ensure that they are practicing past papers, including HSC exams and seeking teacher assistance when required.
During Term 3, students will complete their Task 4 Trial HSC Examination for the Extension 2 Course, which contributes to 40% of the overall assessment.
